The Moon is exalted in Taurus where a final Blood Moon lunar eclipse will take place on November 8, 2022, that happens to be an election day in the United States.

Called a Blood Moon, the Moon will appear red because shorter wavelengths of blue light are easier to see when the Sun is shining on something directly. At an angle, reds and yellows overwhelm blue like when the Earth’s shadow passes over the moon, as during an eclipse. Since direct sunlight is blocked by the Earth, refracted sunlight from Earth’s atmosphere creates the moon’s blood red color.

Blood moons are ominous and prophetic often appearing in various cultural folklore and in the Book of Job in the Bible. This Blood Moon eclipse is no different, especially with complications and hard aspects to other planets. If you are born under any of the fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, you will feel the effects far more than other signs of the Zodiac. As Betty Davis said, “Fasten your seatbelts; it’s going to be a bumpy night.”

The Moon in the Zodiac represents our emotions and is the deepest part of our subconscious mind. Ruled by Cancer, the Moon represents needs, habits, and reactions; so, when the shadow of the Earth passes over the moon, it creates an opportunity for deep transformation. Sudden and abrupt changes are common during a lunar eclipse and this Blood Moon in Taurus, conjunct with Uranus, the planet of change and disruption, is magnified. Rebirth, renewal, and restlessness all play a part in the energy of these two planets, both at 16 degrees Taurus.

Saturn, Lord of Karma associated with life lessons, in Aquarius, forms a square with the Sun in Scorpio and the Moon in Taurus. While we all crave change, represented by Uranus, we fear it too, rather by holding onto current structures (like governments) that Saturn represents. It is a big tug-of-war between the old and the new.

A Superior Conjunction of the Sun and Mercury, both in Scorpio, brings strong impact to not only what we say but also how we say it. Mercury in Scorpio brings interest in hidden information and communication. Clearing the air, epiphanies, and plans come to full fruition.

This is a fervent, imaginative, and chaotic lunar eclipse that illuminates the conflict between form and transformation. Epiphanies abound. Chaos temporarily rules to propel us forward.
